Be The Change Volunteers
We Turn Travelers Into Changers!
For over 15 years, Be The Change Volunteers has sent travelers overseas to serve on education-focused projects for communities in need. Here at BTCV, we believe that “creating better education creates better jobs, and a better job is the only way out of poverty.” Our BTCV teams are diverse and comprise individuals from all walks of life, such as high school students, college students, adults, and retirees. We see groups of friends and families offer their time, treasure, and talents to help too. In addition to serving the community, volunteers can establish lasting relationships with the residents and learn more about their culture.
Our volunteers are self-funded for their charitable mission, and many of them use our fundraising tools to completely fund their entire participation expense. Funds for each of our charitable missions include a gift to the BTCV project fund which is applicable for use towards all BTCV projects, travel coordination, team leaders on-site, three meals daily, ground transport, accommodations, and a Global Rescue medical evacuation membership. BUILD - EDUCATE - CHANGE
For more than 15 years Be The Change Volunteers has coordinated international volunteer travel opportunities for high school and college students as part of our teams. Volunteers will have regular opportunities for cultural exchange while working on a specific needed portion of the partner school infrastructure as part of a total campus plan. BTCV hires and works with professional local contractors who understand how to include and work with local community and guest volunteers. BTCV works directly with local community activists to ensure all aspects of cultural appropriateness.
High School

Our experienced BTCV team leaders will take your high school juniors and seniors on organized, education-focused volunteer trips globally. This is typically done through the school’s global perspectives or international studies program. Teams are made up of 10–20 students, parents, and school staff members. We welcome individual students with a parent or guardian.
College

There is no better time to travel and serve than your college years. Joining a BTCV team will broaden your global perspectives and give you an opportunity to serve and be immersed in a local culture in ways no regular trip can create. Join one of our teams and serve alongside others or work with your school’s office of international studies to build a BTCV team.
To get your school started, contact info@BTCV.us and we will set up an info session to share stories and answer questions about our projects and upcoming service opportunities. Dates for private full teams may be selected by the group or school. All other project dates are listed here.
BUILD - EDUCATE - CHANGE
For more than 15 years Be The Change Volunteers has coordinated international volunteer travel opportunities for adults travelers as part of our teams. BTCV service projects are typically focused on light construction labor tasks. That said construction experience is not at all required and there are many other ways to serve as part of a BTCV team such as serving in the classrooms and helping with other projects at one of our partner school campuses.
