Projects

For more than 15 years, Be The Change Volunteers (BTCV) has connected travelers with education-focused service projects in communities around the world. We believe quality education leads to better jobs—and that sustainable employment is the path out of poverty. Our diverse volunteers include students, adults, retirees, families, and friends who give their time, resources, and skills to make a lasting impact. Along the way, volunteers build meaningful relationships and gain a deeper understanding of local cultures.

BTCV volunteers are self-funded, with many using our fundraising tools to cover their full participation costs. Program fees support BTCV projects, travel coordination, on-site team leaders, lodging, meals, ground transportation, and Global Rescue medical evacuation coverage. Our mission is simple: empower communities through access to quality education—because every child matters, and opportunity changes everything.
